Kérastase Gloss Absolu — Shine, Smoothness & Frizz Control

Gloss Absolu is Kérastase's answer to hair that looks dull, feels rough, or fights frizz in Melbourne's humidity. Where most shine ranges just coat the surface, this one works differently — it uses light-reflective actives and smoothing technology to actually reduce surface porosity, so hair reflects light evenly rather than scattering it. The result is the kind of deep, glassy shine you usually only see walking out of a salon.

It's built for all hair types, but our stylists particularly recommend it for colour-treated hair that's lost its vibrancy, hair that feels coarse or rough between appointments, and anyone dealing with persistent frizz or flyaways that won't sit down.

Your Gloss Absolu routine:

  • ShampooBain Hydra-Glaze Shampoo — use 2–3 times per week maximum. It's a concentrated formula and your scalp needs its natural oils between washes. On off-days, rinse with water only or use a gentle co-wash.
  • ConditionerInsta-Glaze Gloss Enhancing Conditioner — use after every wash. Smooths the cuticle and seals in moisture for frizz control that lasts through the day.
  • Weekly treatmentMasque Hydra-Glaze — replace your conditioner with this once a week. Five minutes is enough to noticeably restore softness and shine on dull or coarse hair.
  • Finishing touchGlaze Drops Hair Oil — apply a few drops to dry hair for instant shine and frizz control. Our stylists use this as the finishing step after blow-drying — a little goes a long way.

A note from our stylists: resist the urge to shampoo daily with Gloss Absolu. The formula is concentrated and works best used 2–3 times a week — hair actually holds its gloss better between washes when you let the treatment build up. If you feel like you need to wash daily, the Insta-Glaze conditioner alone on off-days is enough to refresh and smooth.
